Bikes on Transit

Bike and ride easily on BC’s bike-friendly transit system with the addition of bike racks on buses, bike lockers available for rent (at most SkyTrain stations), and bike tie-downs on West Coast Express cars. Whether for leisure, or your daily commute to work, don’t hesitate to bring your bike on buses, SkyTrain, Seabus, or the West Coast Express.

Bikes on Buses
There is no extra charge to bring your bike on a BC Transit bus or community shuttle bike rack. Loading occurs at all regular stops, with a maximum of two bikes per bike rack. For bike rack service, call 604-953-3333. (Motor-powered bikes are prohibited.)

Be sure to check out the schedule for bike transportation.

Please note: On recently-delivered buses in the Coast Mountain Bus Company fleet, bicycles will not be carried after daylight hours. This is due to a design issue, in which the headlights are obscured when a bicycle is placed on the rack. The manufacturer is currently addressing this problem. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank our customers for their patience.

Bikes on SkyTrain
Bikes are welcome at no extra cost on SkyTrain everyday, at all times, except during weekday rush hours (in the peak direction) from 7am to 9am and 4pm to 6pm. Two bikes per car and riders under the age of 13 should be accompanied by an adult.

For bike locker rental information at SkyTrain, bus, and Park & Ride stations, call: 604-924-1076 or see www.cmediaoutdoor.com/locker_rentals.html.

Please note: Bikes are prohibited from boarding and departing at Metrotown Station, until safety concerns are addressed.

Bikes on West Coast Express
Bring your bike on the West Coast Express during all hours of the commuter rail service at an additional cost of $1/day or $15/month (monthly & quarterly passes available at the customer service office). A maximum of two bikes, per car, are allowed.

Bikes on SeaBus
Bikes travel at no extra charge, with a maximum of six bicycles per sailing, on the SeaBus during all operating hours.
