Special Crossings

Bike-friendly transit services exist for cyclists to manoeuvre over bridges and through tunnels in the Greater Vancouver Regional District. TransLink’s commitment to making cycling a realistic option is responsible for buses being equipped with bike racks and for bicycle shuttles. To find schedules for bike-friendly buses crossing the bridges listed below, click on the bus number, or click on the 'MAP it' link to see Transit services around each crossing.

Downtown Vancouver

Bike-friendly transit is available across any of the four bridges leading in and out of downtown Vancouver

Burrard Street Bridge

Port Mann Bridge
Cyclists are prohibited from riding across the bridge on their bicycles for safety and health reasons. Currently, there are no transit services in operation across the bridge.

George Massey Tunnel
Cyclists are prohibited from riding through the tunnel on their bicycles for safety and health reasons. Transit schedule: 311, 351, 352, 354, 404, 601, 602, 603, 604, 620

Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows
To cross the bridge in and out of the municipalities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, see the transit schedules below.

Pitt River Bridge
Transit schedule: 701, 791

Alternatively, you can take the West Coast Express – Vancouver's commuter rail service – where cyclists are also welcome. West Coast Express currently operates five commuter trains during weekday peak periods, connecting Mission, Abbotsford, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Port Coquitlam, Coquitlam, and Port Moody with downtown Vancouver.
