Accessibility
Designated parking zones help people in wheelchairs, scooters, crutches, and walkers arrive safely at their destination. Use of these zones requires a SPARC (Social Planning and Research Council) parking permit, which can be obtained through contacting SPARC BC.
Temporary SPARC PermitsPeople who are temporarily disabled, such as someone with a broken leg or recovering from surgery, can obtain a temporary permit.
Exemptions from Parking RegulationsIn various municipalities, displaying a SPARC permit gives you exemptions from parking regulations, such as being allowed to park for three hours in resident permit-parking spaces. Visit the SPARC BC website at www.sparc.bc.ca for more details.
