The Jack Bell rideshare program is Canada's first large-scale organized ridesharing program. It currently operates over 100 vehicles in its fleet, facilitating private ride-sharing over the Internet. The program is operated by the Jack Bell Foundation and is a Charitable BC Society.
Ridesharing is when two or more people commute together in the same vehicle. Ridesharing can be casual, when commuters share rides in their own vehicles, or formal, when commuters ride in a fleet vehicle. The Jack Bell Foundation database enables commuters to find rides either in a fleet vehicle or in someone else's vehicle.
